As a lot of the prior blog posts have pointed out, we want people to tell their story. One of the ways I tell my story is through song; no, not me singing, but through finding inspiration in other's lyrics. In these hectic weeks of our events, I find that the following songs give me inspiration to continue and push on no mater how tired / frustrated / exhausted I am. Please share your B4C playlist in the comments.
| Name | Artist | Reason |
| Against The Wind | Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band | Because sometimes with B4C I feel like I am fighting an uphill battle - but I know eventually we'll get there. |
| Beautiful Day | U2 | Cause every day that there is a B4C event is a beautiful one (even when the weather doesn't cooperate) |
| Breakin' Out | Shemekia Copeland | Cause thats what B4C is doing right now. |
| Constructive Summer | The Hold Steady | B4C events happen in the spring and gets me thinking about the summer. |
| Elias | Dispatch | This song is a tool that they have used to help thousands in Zimbabwe. Check it out. |
| Gonna Be Some Changes Made | Bruce Hornsby | We're always thinking about the change that our event is going to create, but also about how we can tweak our events to be the best they can be. |
| Good Vibrations | The Beach Boys | Cause events give me these |
| Little Victories | Matt Nathanson | Each of our participants is a little victory for us. |
| Live Out The String | Marc Cohn | "Maybe life is curious to see what you will do with the gift of being left alive." Has a lot of meaning coming from a gunshot victim. |
| Mrs. Potter's Lullaby | Counting Crows | "If you've never stared off in the distance, then your life is a shame." Take this opportunity to do look into the distance and see possibilities. |
| Optimistic Thought | Blues Traveler | Because B4C is one... |
| Passerby | Dispatch | We can't afford to be passers by... |
| Philadelphia | The Hustle | A personal one - as the place I call home and do most of my B4C work ti reminds me of where I'm from and what this city has given me. |
| Philosophy | Ben Folds | A few years back we hashed out our B4C philosophy - this song is to remind me that there is more to what we do than what you see on the surface of a B4C event. |
| Road Outside Columbus | O.A.R. | B4C events are a second home to me. |
| Runnin' Down a Dream | Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers | Isn't that what we're all about? |
| See the World | Gomez | Just puts a smile on my face. |
| Strange Cup of Tea | Sister Hazel | "On my feet I walk, with my legs I run, In my arms I'll hold another day, With my head I think, from my heart I sing, And with my hand to my face I pray." This lyric has always inspired me and got me thinking about the possibilities of the future. |
| Streets of Philadelphia | Bruce Springsteen | See Philadelphia |
| These Are Days | 10,000 Maniacs | When working on college campuses this song has a lot of meaning about this time in a person's life. |
| The Times They Are A-Changin' | Bob Dylan | I hope that they are... |
| Too Much | Rusted Root | Something to calm me down when things are hectic. |
| Waiting on the World to Change | John Mayer | Because we can't just wait on it... |
| We'll Find It | Sister Hazel | "Take Me--I don't care, just not right here Take Me--Somewhere more familiar Show Me--Love of situations, and Tell Me--Things I want to hear." Always puts a smile on my face |
| What I Got | Sublime | To remind me, even in the most hectic of times that I've got a lot to be happy and proud of. |
| With My Two Hands | Ben Harper | Cause we can change the world with our own two hands. |
| Wonderful Day | O.A.R. | Reminds me how good B4C events are and how they make my day wonderful. |
| You've Got A Friend | James Taylor | Because without my friends I don't know how I would get through B4C season. |
