After reading this post (and the one related to it) I was inspired.  Not really by what was said (well, not for Buzzing for Change purposes) but for the sentiment where Alex says "Dare to be great.  Together."

This really resonated with me and what Buzzing for Change stands for.  We stand for helping children living with cancer.  We stand for developing student leaders.  We stand for helping people find their own inspiration in what we do.  We stand for building communities of world-changers.  But, most importantly we stand for doing it TOGETHER.   

It is the power of community that drives Buzzing for Change.  A question that I've heard at every B4C goes something like this:

"Hey, why aren't you shaving your head?  We're all doing this, how about you?" 

(long pause) "well...I guess I'll do it" 

Many of those are the ones who are the most impacted - they dared to be great.  People say a lot of things about B4C events, but there is one resounding concept - the idea that by participating in an event has gained you membership in a community.  Communities work together to solve problems - and we all know that there are a lot of problems that need solving.

While an individual has the power to change the world, a community (that does it together) has an even greater power.  Everyone who has participated in a B4C event has helped to change the world, the difference is how are you partnering with others to do the same.  Two people working together don't just change the world twice as much - its the ideas that are generated from those conversations and their connections and the webs growing out - their impacted is magnified.

So, as we prepare to celebrate the sixth anniversary of our first event, I ask you this; How has B4C impacted you?  How will you leverage those around you to change the world?

We can only do it if we dare to be great.  Together.
